The Funniest Cartoons Ever!
a dedication by Mark Doty
In my opinion, some of the funniest cartoons ever made are The Ren & Stimpy Show by Bob Camp, which is one of the first semi-adult humor cartoons that really seemed to capture the essence of stupid humor, Beavis & Butthead by Mike Judge where the teenage boys left with the run of the house could literally destroy the town they lived in and they never had to pay the price, SpongeBob SquarePants by Stephen Hillenburg, because it just doesn't matter that they are under water and he works the grill or drives a car, From Hand to Mouse (1944) by Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese.
South Park created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker is pure and painfull comedy. They feel the need to find the line, show you where the line is, and then set off a bomb that destroys the line completely. Some of their episodes have become legendary conversation starters in pop culture. Watching South Park is like exercising the demons of political correctness.
Family Guy created by Seth MacFarlane has gotta be one of the funniest cartoons you can watch. This show has mastered the art of comic timing and animated acting to a point where watching it over and over again doen't get old right away. Every episode seems to have something in it that is way over the top and too funny to keep to your self.
But as long as we're going down the adult cartoon path, why not stop in and say hi to Justin Roiland. If you like any of the cartoons I've listed above then you need to check out House of Cosbys, Toro & Moro and Mr. Sprinkles by Justin Roiland.
Justin Roiland's animation and voice work is crazy funny. Off color, raunchy, gory, twisted and totally nutty. Search for some of his work on youtube.com, acceptible.tv and break.com or just go to his web site at comicsacrifice.com
